This is my first post ever featuring my self and there will be more to come. Today I decided to rock my Lanvin printed scarf a la fashion turban style.
I wanted the turban to be the focus of my outfit (and it definitely was, as I received plenty of compliments and several eye-catching looks for it) so I wore a Vince sweater turtleneck, St. John tapered black pants, with a pointed-toe d'Orsay Christian Louboutins (sorry this picture doesn't capture the red sole, but they are there).

_Dressing any body type is challenging, but when your top and bottom half aren't equal (or close to) in proportion it can be even more of a challenge to find clothing that is flattering. This outfit is ideal for a silhouette with slender hips. While the top portion of the body is cover in a basic tuxedo style jacket, more attention is draw to the bottom portion with bold polk-a-dot printed skirt. The pleating at the waistband of the skirt also adds volume, giving the illusion of broader hips, balancing the bottom half with the top half of the body.

Add some flair to this all black and white ensemble by adding bright color in the form of accessories and under-pinnings.

Adding only one color to a black and white look is too expected. Modernize your look by choosing a different color for each accessory and/or under-pinning. However, do not go over board...limit yourself to a maximum of three colors to add to this black and white color palette.

Layer this florescent pink cashmere sweater over a white tank. Ideally the hem of the tank should fall past the the hem of the sweater. A solid medium blue rinse denim in a skinny silhouette balances out the layered bulkiness from the top portion of the outfit. Keep handbag and shoe accessories simple yet interesting with a bit of shine.

Step out this New Year's Eve in this jewel purple Jay Godfrey body-con sheath dress. Unless you will be celebrating in a tropical climate, one way to keep warm while maintaining your chic look is a fur stole. Your stole will stay in place with the Lanvin crystal pin which can later be placed onto the dress. Add touches of diamonds, silver and black accessories to seal the deal for the night.
