While getting inspiration from runway, we all have to keep our personal style and shapes in mind when seeking the right piece of lace for ourselves. Here I will help guide you to find the right lace garments whether your shape is hourglass, broader on top, wider on the bottom, lacking curves, or fuller in the center.

Lace for the Hourglass

When you are blessed with curves in all the right places you better embrace them every chance you get. Nothing does that better than a body conscious midi length dress like this pale blue lace dress from Asos.

Lace for the Broader Top

The silhouette of this top is perfect for someone who is broader on the top half of their body. Black is the minimizing color, therefor the color of this lace blouse by Anna Sui lessens the wideness of ones shoulder and/or bust. The volume at the bottom of the sleeves and the hem of the shirt balances the upper portion creating an illusion that the bottom half of the body is wider than it actually is.

Lace for Wider Bottom

When you carry more of your weight in the bottom half of your body, the key is to draw more attention to your other half. The best way to do this is with broader neckline and exaggerated details near the shoulders. As you can see in the Lela Rose dress, the lace pattern extends out to the end of the cap sleeves, creating a more of an ideal hourglass figure.

*Take note that this style would not flatter the opposite which is broader on top.

Lace for the Curveless

A curveless figure is very self-explanatory...it lacks curves and appears very straight throughout the shoulder, waist, and hips. Even though this silhouette is balanced, the idea is to create more depth in proportions. Not everyone can get away with wearing lace shorts, but the curveless can do so without looking overly provocative. These shorts by Free People have a bit of flounce making the body appear more shapely.

Lace for the Fuller Middle

When you do not have very defined waistline, tailored clothing becomes your bestfriend. Princess seams and darts reinforce shape where it is lacking. The tailoring of this Nanette Lepore blazer defines the waist as apposed to a jacket without seams which would only add more bulk to bulk.

Yesterday my friend Lindsay and I both wore black and chartreuse outfits. Really, how hilarious is this photo? Lindsay is a natural bombshell and gorgeously tall. Standing next to her puts my height of 5'5" to shame.

I loved Lindsay's look because it is so unusual from anything that she normally wears. She is surprisingly shy when it comes to showing off her fabulous figure, often opting to wear many layers on the top half of her body and leggings or skinny jeans on the bottom. Here she is seen in a T by Alexander Wang Mesh Shirt that drapes and hugs her torso with a pair of L'Agence Belted Trousers that are slightly wide. These type of pants also look great in motion, flowing with the lines of one's legs as they walk. In this outfit, Lindsay gives off an overall aura of sophistication.

Cassie was spotted wearing a Helmut Lang Era Suit Blazer with a complete buttoned up collared shirt, snakeskin printed bottoms, and sneakers. While opting to wear such a bold print for a pant, Cassie kept the rest of her look clean and minimal.

You should also take note that her collared shirt and blazer are different shades of white. Often we get mixed up and trying to match the perfect shade of the same color. This is a great example that slight differences in shades are acceptable to wear.

Unlike with true blue jean denim, you cannot get away with white denim being as skin tight. Keep these key tips in mind and you'll look so right in your white.

Tip 1: Choose a jean silhouette that is complimentary to your body shape. If you are broader up top, go for a bootcut silhouette. For more proportioned shapes can pull off a more tapered silhouettes.

Look 1: Wear with Lanvin Ruched Jacket and Christian Louboutin Ankle Boots in chic sophisticated way.

Look 2: Wear casually with a bold neon bright like this Christopher Kane Chartreuse tee and low wedge Woven Alexander Wang Sandals.

Look 3: This Thakoon Peplum shirt work well for disguising low tummy bulge and creating more of a curvier hourglass silhouette. Add a subtle color with Miu Miu's Suede Navy Sandal.
