Men's Fashion: Add Some Color 02/13/2012
A light or charcoal grey suit should be a staple in every man's wardrobe, especially for those working in Corporate America. The easiest way to add color to a conservative ensemble is with a tie and a pocket square. To match the tie, you can chose anyone of the colors that are incorporated in the tie above, orange, yellow, purple, green or light blue. Add Comment Get Longer Looking Legs in 2 Steps 02/13/2012
Weren't blessed with long super model legs? Don't fret...make your legs appear as if they were long enough for the cat-walk with the following tips. ![]() J Brand High-Rise Maria Skinny Jean Step 1: A high-rise jean or pant creates an illusion that your legs begin higher than they actually do. Another added benefit of a high-rise bottom is the comfort level of not having to worry about your behind hanging out and being exposed. ![]() Equipment Mina Cropped Sleeveless Blouse Step 2: Pair your high-rise bottoms with a top with a hemline that stops right at or a tad bit below the waistband of your chosen bottoms. A top that falls too far past the waistband will make your legs look shorter and torso longer...not a good look. Printed pants are everywhere for this coming spring. My favorite thus far are these Gucci white with black floral print. Below are 4 ways to wear these pants right now and thru spring and summer. Look 1: Wear with Lanvin Ruched Jacket and Christian Louboutin Ankle Boots in chic sophisticated way. Look 2: Wear casually with a bold neon bright like this Christopher Kane Chartreuse tee and low wedge Woven Alexander Wang Sandals. Look 3: This Thakoon Peplum shirt work well for disguising low tummy bulge and creating more of a curvier hourglass silhouette. Add a subtle color with Miu Miu's Suede Navy Sandal. Look 4: There was once a time when it was not acceptable to wear multiple prints. Now that is a trend you still have to be a bit cautious. In this case the Proenza Schouler striped shirt is complimentary to the Gucci Floral Print Jeans because both are black and white yet geometrically distinctive. Complete with bold stacked sandal like this one from Givenchy. Black Skirts for All Black Ensembles 01/19/2012
My client Tina recently requested that I find her a new skirt. Her work wardrobe limits her to wear only black. The key to pulling off monochromatic black is to not only make sure the blacks of each piece that you are wearing match, but to also choose garments with structural and texture details like these skirts below. Statement Brooch 01/10/2012
A quick way to bring new life to one of your favorite tops or dresses is to add an eye catching brooch. You can even wear a brooch as a pendent on a chain necklace. Consider the ones below as investments to updating your current wardrobe. T by Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2012 01/09/2012
Alexander Wang's T Collection has progressed from a collection of loose fitting t-shirts to an actual collection where one can put together an entire look from head-to-toe. Here are my favorites from the T by Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2012 Collections: Image Source: Style.com Color Blocking and Tribal Print Bikini 01/09/2012
This is the beginning of something major for my friend Vanessa Gonzalez. I'm expecting to develop line of beautiful "scrunch-butt" bikinis. Not only am I featuring this bikini because she is my friend, but I love her choice of fabric. The multi-tribal print is a huge trend for this coming spring. She also incorporated another fashion trend by creating a two-toned (also referred to as color blocking) bikini top. If you're interested in a custom made bikini from Vanessa email me at info@ninahoskins.com. Ask Nina? Loren Jewels Diamond Bead Bracelet 01/05/2012
This post is inspired by Celebrity Makeup Stylist and Nars Cosmetics' National Artists, Janice Daoud. She recent professed her love for this to-die-for Loren Jewels 32.16 carat diamond bracelet which retails for $24,635. At Janice's request I set out to find similar style bracelets at the fraction of the cost. My Fashion Turban 12/23/2011
This is my first post ever featuring my self and there will be more to come. Today I decided to rock my Lanvin printed scarf a la fashion turban style. I wanted the turban to be the focus of my outfit (and it definitely was, as I received plenty of compliments and several eye-catching looks for it) so I wore a Vince sweater turtleneck, St. John tapered black pants, with a pointed-toe d'Orsay Christian Louboutins (sorry this picture doesn't capture the red sole, but they are there). _Dressing any body type is challenging, but when your top and bottom half aren't equal (or close to) in proportion it can be even more of a challenge to find clothing that is flattering. This outfit is ideal for a silhouette with slender hips. While the top portion of the body is cover in a basic tuxedo style jacket, more attention is draw to the bottom portion with bold polk-a-dot printed skirt. The pleating at the waistband of the skirt also adds volume, giving the illusion of broader hips, balancing the bottom half with the top half of the body. Add some flair to this all black and white ensemble by adding bright color in the form of accessories and under-pinnings. Adding only one color to a black and white look is too expected. Modernize your look by choosing a different color for each accessory and/or under-pinning. However, do not go over board...limit yourself to a maximum of three colors to add to this black and white color palette. | Sign up for FREE style
